“Wow, it looks stunning!” said Jenny. “What does it taste like?” Her question was met with blank stares and sideways glances from the girls. Soon there was a snort, and a giggle, followed by howls of laughter. “What?” asked Jenny.
“My dear,” said Gillian. “As you’re new here, I will cut you some slack and explain – nobody cares.”
The others agreed. “Nobody,” they said.
“Think about it,” said Gillian. “When did you ever hear anybody say how delicious a wedding cake was? Never. It’s ALL about the look. Now, here’s the wood varnish, go and paint a second coat on those fondant flowers please.”
