Welcome to the fifth edition of our weekly writing digest here at Limebird Writers. Each issue will feature a few writing competitions and opportunities that we have selected for you. If you missed the last edition, you can view it here.

Do let us know about any writing competitions you’ve entered lately, even if they’re not ones we’ve featured – we always love to hear about what our lovely followers are doing with their writing!


Opportunity type – Poetry competition in aid of charity.
Theme – Any.
Word count – Up to 50 lines.
Organiser/publisher – Eastern Light EPM Ltd, on behalf of The Psychiatry Research Trust.
Reward – First Prize: £150.00 ($238.00) Second Prize: £75.00 ($119.00) Third Prize: £40.00 ($63.00) High Commendation Prizes: 2 x £10.00 ($16.00)
Eligibility – Not specified, other than saying poems must be in English. As prizes and entrance fees are given in both £ and $, I assume international entries are welcomed.
Deadline– July 31, 2013.

Notes – Entry fees are – 1 Poem (£4.00/$6.50), 2 Poems (£7.50/$12.00), 3 Poems (£10.50/$17.00), 4 Poems (£12.50/$20.00), 5 Poems (£14.00/$22.50). A third of net entry fees goes to The Psychiatry Research Trust.
